What To Wear For Every Invite

As our calendars begin to fill up, our wardrobe demands begin to grow. Luckily for you, we’ve thought ahead to every possible occasion, invite + dress code in our Event Edit, and designed just the styles that make dressing for your occasions effortless, including considerations for how to adapt these pieces from day to night. So when it comes to planning your busy social life this season, you don’t need to worry about outfit fatigue, but instead, build outfit excitement. 

OFFICE-TO-COCKTAILS

Balancing the considerations of office dress codes with an evening-ready edge is our bread + butter, so there’s plenty of office-to-cocktail-ready solutions to choose from. 

Crisp shirting and the office go hand in hand, but when you add subtle crystal embellishments and fluid silk fabric like our Embellished Tux Shirt, you get a distinct evening feel. A black trouser is always a strong workwear foundation, so we’ve elevated our signature double-pleat wide-leg style by refreshing it in fluid satin and a choice of black or dark navy. 

Complete the tailored look with a final dose of texture courtesy of a blazer. The signature Sharp Shoulder Blazer is crafted from Italian velvet, featuring a slightly more contoured waist for an even more flattering silhouette.   

DESK-TO-DINNER

You have dinner with friends in the evening, but first, it’s a full day of meetings and getting up and down from your desk. That means you need a look that balances form with function. The staple styles you’d wear to work, but with a lifted feel. This season's tops fit the bill.

The silhouettes you know and love are reimagined with an evening edge, while still retaining the classic shapes that make them adaptable to both daytime and evening wear. The slim, easy-layering fit of our classic crew-neck long-sleeve top is reworked in a metallic-thread infused jersey for a subtle shimmer, or the always-flattering silk shirt that’s designed with a perfectly oversized fit so it drapes fluidly when tucked in, or left out. Extra details like an optional scarf and fitted scuffs extend the styling options. 

If your go-to work look involves a crisp white tee or shirt, then take it up a notch with this high-neck long-sleeve top, embellished with flat-lay sequins for a smooth, fluid sheen. New iterations of our signature layering top come with new impactful details like a sequin-embellished collar and satin or sheer organza sleeves.

BLACK TIE AFFAIR

When the invitation calls for black-tie attire, it’s time to go all out. This season’s solutions adhere to the traditional requirements of this dress code, through a distinctly contemporary lens. 

If your immediate instinct is to opt for a dress, then look to something timeless with a twist, such as the Statement Back Dress. A striking monochrome palette meets effortless draping around the neck and a trio of cutouts, before falling to a figure-skimming full-length skirt. 

Jumpsuits also fit the formal codes. Aptly named, the Black Tie Jumpsuit is crafted from silk-blend velvet that's shaped to a high draped neck and wide-cut legs. Or try a statement option with our plunge-neck silhouette, crafted from black satin.

FESTIVE PARTIES

It’s almost the time to celebrate all that glitters. And when it comes to the season's festive parties, it means sequins, metallic-woven knits and fluid satin that looks especially good under Christmas lights.

'Tis the season to make a statement, perhaps with bold tailoring. We're unofficially calling it party pinstripes. New tailored separates, including a blazer, waistcoat, and a choice of trouser shapes, come in black and cream, intended to be mixed + matched. And to really give it a party-ready feel, the classic brushed tailoring fabric is decorated with metallic gold pinstripes. 

The festive mood continues with innovative knitwear. Semi-sheer ribbed knits woven with metallic thread like the bodysuit or peplum top are an instant lift when styled with tailored trousers or denim. While dresses + tops in our shimmer knit fabric offer a more subtle take on sequin embellishments, intelligently placed on the outside of the fabric for a smooth feel against the skin.
