As a football-obsessed nation, attendance at World Cup games in some form is borderline mandatory. So whether you’re watching from a packed pub beer garden, cheering on from the stands in the US, Mexico City or Canada, or hosting a watch party at home, plan the perfect look that combines sporty spirit with summer ease in our edit of matchday-worthy style solutions.

Team Colours
Wherever you’re watching, show your support without committing to a full kit by wearing team colours. England colours are white at home and red away, which is a stroke of luck, or intelligence, since they’re two key shades in our summer collection.

Pub Garden Energy
If you’re not in the stands, the second-best atmosphere to watch a (winning) England game is a sunny pub beer garden, although securing a spot during any major football event is like an Olympic sport in itself.
A trip to the pub doesn’t require a grand outfit plan, so look to relaxed yet polished styles like a shirt or well-cut trousers as the base of your look. Then build up with layers of red and white like a classic T-shirt, to stay on theme. And since the games are being hosted across North America, they’re on quite late in the UK, so be sure to bring a jacket, like the denim Slim Utility Blazer, or a light cotton knit, like the Essential Crop Jumper, for cooler evenings.

Cheering From The Stands
If you’re making the trip to the States, Mexico or Canada to see any of the games, make sure you stand out in the stands with bold colours, and keep cool with light fabrics. Assuming you’ll be proudly wearing the home shirt as your base, then add a soft knit or a breezy shirt as an extra layer for cooler evenings or sun protection.
Choose a trouser that accommodates jumping, cheering and hopefully being on the edge of your seat, such as relaxed denim in the form of Crop Kick Flare Jean or the Exaggerated Taper Jean. Extra layers should be light, airy, and easy to carry or store between wears, so look to soft, easy-to-fold styles like the Relaxed Summer Shirt in cotton cheesecloth or the Crop Sleeve Shirt in striped woven cotton.

BBQ Watch Party
It doesn’t get much more British than a BBQ watch party for a big football game - bonus points if it rains. Hosting at home or attending someone else's event loosens the football-focused dress code.
If you want to dress up a bit more, look to the striped Crop Wide-Leg Jumpsuit or green-themed floral top + skirt co-ord. Or, if you’re looking for a more casual look, you can’t go wrong with a warm-weather classic like the Broderie Peplum Top or the Feminine Sleeve Blouse.

Spare Kit
Look to this season’s accessories to complete your look, wherever you’re watching the games. From stadium-friendly cross-body compact bags to sun-shielding hats and shades you’ll be grateful for in a sunny beer garden.
