So we're celebrating 10 years of one of our most iconic pairs - the Palazzo Pant - by refreshing it in a new silhouette and a new contemporary neutral. When it comes to this style, there are plenty of good reasons it's one of our longest-reigning and best-selling products, but we’ve condensed them into five.

But first, what is a Palazzo Pant?

Characterised by their wide-leg silhouette, the Palazzo Pant was generally popularised in the 1960s, based on avant-garde womenswear trends of the 1930s and 1940s. This style was often used as a way for women to circumvent the strict restaurant dress codes, which required women to wear skirts. The loose, wide-leg silhouette was fluid enough to camouflage as a skirt, therefore becoming a symbol of quiet rebellion for women who wanted the comfort and ease of a trouser.

Crafted from the same ultra-soft jersey with the same fold-over adjustable waistband, we’ve chosen a wider cut through the leg to give this pair an evening-ready edge. The choice of Black, Navy or Warm Chocolate is specifically chosen to work as a versatile base alongside the neutrals + brights throughout the winter collections.

A dark-coloured trouser is a solid wardrobe foundation you can always rely on to form the basis of many looks, from on-the-go to going-out. The soft fabric and healthy dose of stretch make the Palazzo Pant the perfect companion for long travel days, while still retaining a smart look. A lot of thought and testing go into creating the perfect jersey. We wanted to combine the usual comfort and high level of stretch, while making sure it passed the most important wear test of all: remaining opaque - the fabric equivalent of staying calm under pressure. 

We went with modal - a fibre that’s revered for its exceptionally soft feel. Modal jersey also has a breathable and lightweight finish that’s more resistant to pilling and shrinking, and it’s also easy to care for - perfect for a trouser you’ll be reaching for multiple times a week.

4. Petite Flattering

There are multiple reasons why our Palazzo Pant is a go-to for petite frames. A choice of lengths from cropped or regular means there’s something for everyone. 

Countering the potential issue of an awkwardly high waist, the roll-top waistband is super stretchy and adaptable, allowing you to create the rise that feels most comfortable or flattering, whether it's low, mid, or high.
